Wow, what a good son! In this setting, where Adebayo was discussing the NBA playoffs, we have no issue with Adebayo taking his mom’s call. After all, the topic of the media encounter was not exactly life and death.
However, do you sense a “but” coming? Well, here we go. But in most cases, interrupting a news briefing or interview to take a phone call, even from your mom, is not the way to go. You will come across as unprofessional and disorganized, especially if you’re discussing a serious issue with the media. Our advice is turn off your phone or put it on silent and keep it out of sight until the media has left.
